Being a laboratory school of Andrews University, Ruth Murdoch Elementary is not only a partner in the education of students, but part of the community of learners who are committed to a legacy of providing Christ-centered, holistic training that promotes making a difference through excellence in achievement and global service.
As principal, I believe my role is to cultivate a positive learning culture where everyone participates in, and supports high standards and prioritizes the academic, social, physical, and spiritual needs and success of children in our care. Therefore, at RMES we embrace and celebrate diverse cultures and recognize the different backgrounds, learning styles, interests, and talents of students. We collaborate to provide a positive, professional, nurturing, and safe educational environment, thus promoting comfort, security, learning, and academic growth and development for all students.
This year we will launch STEAMS—Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math, Spirituality—a holistic education trajectory. This program provides rigor, and fosters opportunity for collaboration, and creative critical thinking. As a result, it ensures a unique learning experience for every student at RMES.
RMES is a K-8 Seventh-day Adventist school, serving Andrews University and the surrounding community for over 60 years. We offer a comprehensive curriculum in a loving Christian environment.
